f a q
q: who is this product for? men or women?

a: woah, stop right there. we don't even see genders. this product is for anyone who wants to smell fresh all day... unless they are under 3 years of age, or are allergic to any of the listed ingredients.

q: i saw essential oils listed in the ingredients. is this product only for hippy voodoo vegan alternate medicine doctors?

a: no, i'll make it simple. if you are a human, and you don't trust what giant companies are doing to a product that you apply to your skin every day, this product is for you... again provided that you are over 3 years of age, and are not allergic to any of the listed ingredients.

q: your product advertises itself as a 4 ingredient deodorant, but there are 10 ingredients.

a: first of all, that's a statement, not a question. second of all, the medley is blended together ahead of time to create a single mix of essential oils, so at the time it is added, it is one ingredient. we make no attempt to mislead anyone about what is in our product, all ingredients, and components of medleys are clearly listed on the website, and the product itself.

q: do you have an option for a traditional deodorant stick dispenser?

a: no, because our product contains no fillers, it is very expensive by volume to produce. "traditional" deodorant sticks tend to result in over-application of product which is wasteful in our case. so little of our product is required per application, we do not want to waste product (even if that means we'd sell more) by having a wasteful application method. also, too much product is the leading reason for stains on your clothing. we are proud to stand by this as the positive effects trickle down. less product used means less product you need to buy, less product that needs to be packaged, less product that needs to be shipped to customers.

q: 26 bucks for deodorant? that sounds really expensive. why do you charge so much for your product?

a: we do not use any fillers so the cost of raw materials is high for this product. other "natural" deodorants are able to achieve a lower cost because they are diluting their product with unnecessary fillers, and/or using lower quality ingredients, or are selling smaller volumes of product. we have compared our deodorant to other "natural" stick deodorants costing $11+ per stick. theirs ran out in less than 2 months, meanwhile, a 4 oz tin of simple lee lasted for over 9 months for the same person. another customer got over a year of usage from one 4 oz tin. when you do the math, this is (very roughly) half the cost of other natural deodorants when you consider the life of the product. also, we run promotions all the time on amazon, so if you see it on sale, snatch it up, it is shelf stable for 3 years.

q: my deodorant arrived as a cream. I thought it was supposed to be hardened.
a: the natural ingredients may have softened up in the mail. stick it in the refrigerator for a few hours and it should harden up nicely! after that, it should stay hardened as long as it is stored in a cool dry place like a bathroom cabinet.

q: is the tamperproof plastic wrap recyclable?
a: no, it is actually cellophane which is at least biodegradable.
q: i am familiar with all of your ingrediants except for magnesium hydroxide. what the heck is that? are you trying to poison me?
a: no, we are not trying to poison you. magnesium is a naturally occurring mineral. magnesium hydroxide is magnesium combined with a hydroxide salt. This is commonly taken as a dietary supplement commonly called milk of magnesia. in simple lee deodorant, it acts as a slow-release agent which topically alters the ph of your skin, keeping stinky bacteria from growing.
"magnesium hydroxide, Mg(OH)2, is a safe and naturally occurring compound used, at a pharmaceutical grade, in natural deodorant products as an alternative to aluminum, baking soda, and other ingredients that are potentially irritating, ineffective, or hazardous."
